Laser Surgery

‘Laser’ is an acronym for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. Highly concentrated light rays are transmitted through a pen’like laser scalpel to perform the functions of a traditional scalpel blade.

Patient benefits of Laser assisted surgery:

  • Minimizes blood loss – As it cuts, the laser cauterizes and seals small blood vessels.
  • Minimizes pain – As it cuts, the laser cauterizes and seals nerve endings leading to minimal inflammation.
  • Reduced risk of infection – The laser efficiently kills bacteria in its path producing a further sterilizing effect on the tissue.
  • Faster recovery – Due to the minimized pain, inflammation, blood loss, and risk of infection the patient has the greatest opportunity for a speedy and more comfortable recovery.

If the laser is an option for your pet’s surgical procedure, we will discuss the benefits, answer any questions, and allow you to authorize or decline its use at the time of your pet’s hospital admission. In most cases the use of the laser is required by the doctor as it is best for the pet.

Hospitilzation Area

Our goal is to always have our patients back in their favorite lap or bed as soon as possible. However, to keep everyone safe they will from time to time require housing and we have taken the utmost care to make sure their time with us is as comfortable and stress-free as possible.

Dental Services

Proper dental care is proven to extend your pet’s life. Thorough inspection of the teeth and gums is ont of the most important aspects of a pet’s routine examination.

Digital Radiography

Digital radiography has replaced the traditional x-ray films in much the same way that the digital camera has replaced traditional camera films.

Dental Radiography

Only about one third of a tooth is actually visible with the unaided eye. Dental imaging helps the doctor to uncover hidden dental problem areas in our patients

Ultrasound

The ultrasound machine generates a high-frequency sound beam through a wand that is strategically placed on a patient. As the beam passes harmlessly through the patient, a computer is used to generate an image based on the amount of sound reflected back.

Lab Services

Our in-house laboratory services provide valuable and comprehensive answers without having to wait for results to come back from an outside laboratory.

Laser Therapy

The KLaser is a Class IV laser which is gaining wide use for its ground-breaking therapeutic effects. Laser therapy, or ‘photobiomodulation’ is a highly effective alternative treatment to aid in the reduction of inflammation, pain, and swelling.
