Dr. Teresa (Terri) McCarty – bio coming soon!
Dr. John McCarty was born in Kettering, Ohio. He always knew he would be a veterinarian ever since he was in grade school.
He started practicing veterinary medicine in Toledo, Ohio in 2013, developing special interests in soft-tissue surgery, emergency care, dentistry, and orthopedics. He graduated from the University of Missouri’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2013 and from the University of Cincinnati in 2009.
Dr. John McCarty said he was drawn to Howell Avenue Pet Hospital not only for the state of the art surgical suite and technology, but also for something more tangible. “I chose this practice because of the caring, dedicated staff, and the community-minded atmosphere. I enjoy spending time with my patients and talking with my clients.”
He and his fiancé Brandy love spending time with their two young sons. His interests outside of work include football, fishing, and playing cards.
Dr. Virginia (Ginny) Johnson started practicing veterinary medicine in Northern Kentucky in 2020 as a graduate from Auburn University. She completed her undergraduate at The University of Louisville. Since graduating, she really prides herself on a stress-free approach to thorough vet care. Her veterinary interests include soft tissue surgery and dermatology.
Dr. Johnson’s veterinary interests started when she was 15 years old when she first began as a veterinary assistant, and her love for the care of everyone’s fur family has grown from there. Prior to veterinary school, she was even one of Dr. John’s veterinary assistants for 2 years!
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Johnson lives in Burlington, KY with her husband Kennan, their four dogs (Gnocchi picture here), and their three cats. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, needle point, and binge watching Disney movies.
