Lab tests like complete blood counts, blood chemistry profiles, urinalysis, stool sample screens, and heartworm testing are vital to assessing overall health and identifying markers that could indicate disease. We use laboratory tests to establish a baseline for your pet, to diagnose illness, and to safely prescribe medications. We have in-house machines to provide same-day results if needed.

In pets under 7 years of age, we usually draw blood if the pet is sick or if we are doing annual heartworm checks. Our heartworm checks are one of the most important tests we do, especially in dogs.

In pets 7 years of age or older, we recommend annual heartworm and wellness bloodwork to make sure we catch any medical condition early.
